|
Worship 10:50-12 noon
Children begin worship in the sanctuary and then move to an experiential worship experience called Godly Play. |
Godly Play (2 1/2 to 4 years)
Younger Children will meet with Ms. Linda and volunteers. |
Godly Play (5 years to 5th grade)
Our older children will meet with Ms. Doerte and other volunteers. |
|
|
|
Godly Play is a methodology that uses a storyteller telling a holy story with moveable pieces, wondering about that story, and then using creative stations to help us interpret our feelings, our wonderings, our questions about the stories and how they lead us to God.
This is our fourth year to use Godly play with the kids & we have found that they are growing exponentially every year we use it. The wondering that they do at the end of a story is so amazingly complex and insightful that it often takes our breath away. What amazing kids we have!

Diving into Discussion
(Middle School Youth)
This group will read the same scripture that is being read in the sanctuary and discuss what the scripture means in their lives. |
|
After the sermon, the middle school aged kids will go back into church with Pastor Kenny or another adult.
All other children will move back into church during the last hymn.
Special Days:
While every day is a special one at Madison Square, here are some important dates for the children of the church.

A Word About Ages

Often parents ask us at what age we want children to go
to which program. Our
standard response is that you know that better than us! But, what you should
know is that age is not as important a criteria to us as spiritual readiness.
We want the kids to be ready to fully immerse themselves
in whichever program they attend. We want for the
programming that we provide to be "church" for
whomever attends.
And to that end, we recognize that
some 3 year olds want to sit in circle and hear a story
and some of them just want to play.
Some 10 year olds want to have deeper discussions about
faith, some want to hear a story and some want to stay
in church.
Some 15 year olds want to stay in church and some want to help a 6 year old journey
further along her faith path.
Some 39 year olds want to come out of church and hear a story and do some wondering! Whatever
works as church for you and your children and your family is what we want you
to do.
We will welcome you with open arms wherever you choose to go!
NURSERY

1st Floor Education Building
Sunday 9:00 am to 12:15 pm
Childcare is also available for special services and our Wednesday night gatherings.
We offer a nursery staffed with loving, experienced paid care givers.
The nursery can be found by entering the front door to our education building and taking the half-flight of stairs down.
Our toddlers begin learning the stories of the bible with the curriculum Toddlers & Twos, a Sunday School resource for ages 12 – 36 months that cleverly couches Bible lessons within a large and diverse assortment of play activities.
Madison Square Presbyterian Church is committed to helping your children experience church as a place of love and welcome. That commitment begins with our Nursery.
The Nursery is dedicated to nurturing children 2 1/2 years old and younger.
